Cananga odorata, Bunga Kenanga, Ylang Ylang... Chanel No. 5?

copyrights reserved.

Once upon time, a long long time ago, the kings and royals in this region spent leisurely days in perfumed gardens. Their women perfumed themselves with lovely scented flowers.

One thus flower is the divinely Cananga. Even a 10min drive home with her hovering in the back seat and her sweet fragrance lingered in my hair the whole day...enchanting... mysterious, a scent that takes you wayy wayy deep withing your being... an ancient memory embedded ...your soul remembers her!!

You could mistaken her for cempaka (champaka aka gardenias of many varieties) But Kenanga's flower starts green then ripen to deep mango yellow...

On the way to her peak...

The peak stage where heavenly perfume permeates metres away... especially near dusk..

She has many stories and myth....

Apparently good for health and spiritual state..
