Mamak food and banana leaf restaurants food really suck these days

Be it mamak or the proverbial indian banana leaf, you just have to brace yourself to get really low grade food for your money's worth compared to what we used to get say 10 years ago. Maybe its the economy they say that they hv cut cost on the good stuff but then elevated prices doesnt count for anything?

Mamak's as usual load theirs with tons and tons of sugar and its more like 4 out 5 times you will end with a mild food poisoning the next day with their recycled curries and low hygiene standards.

And for indians, i dont know whether they are trying to cut costs with their spices or losing their confidence with the mamak's bustling business, now even reputable restaurants like Saravan Bhavan are loading their curries with sugar, including dhals and rasam like seriously??? It is so infuriating when you are hungrily looking forward to a nice lunch drenched in spices and having it totally put off with cloying sweetness instead.  You just feel like summoning the cook and pouring the rasam over his stupid head.
