Yes, im truly pleased. Its not easy to grow roses in our hot humid rainy cloudy weather. More so at 300m above sea level, the weather can be rather extreme from misty cold mornings to real scorching hot afternoons. And then there are the rainy stretches and very hot sunny weeks. My numerous battle with thrips and aphids to mealy bugs and those annoying green grasshoppers that love to feast on shiny leaves.. and then the fungus and black spots, you name it, its a daily challenge. But when the buds come and the blooms open, it is worth every painstaking effort.
I am experimenting with a few basic varieties first, learn the what ifs and how tos, experimenting with soil texture, fertilisers and organic stuff right out of the kitchen wastage.
I still havent cracked the codes even after spending hours online scouring famous rose growers websites locally and overseas... i guess it is different in different environment.
