Why women are so mean to each other?

I dont think it is a mystery at all why women tend to be mean or the least over-judmental of each other. It all starts with the way girls are brought up by the society. Girls particularly are expected to look pretty and do sweet things in order to be 'better than the other girl'. Then as they grow they are expected to be the 'better woman' to get the better man.  And then she has to be the 'better wife', 'better mother' or 'better worker'.

They however begin to lose steam as they approach 50s coz they know their looks or performance are no longer subject to much scrutiny anymore. Then they might settle down in their own skin to being themselves and accepting of themselves and others because plainly there is nothing more to 'fight about' or 'fight for'. Or in my case, im just so tired of the shit. Been there, done that, enough already people, lets fine something better to do in our short limited life span.

I was recently introduced by a close acquaintance to a bunch of her friends. It was without much effort i could hear their thoughts 'ooooohh, so this is she!!!' and i know ive been talked about a lot, not entirely in a good way. This acquaintance has a tendency to obsess and make big about the tiniest of things and go about creating some delusion that she is the only one who knows things best and takes some really skewed pleasure at being condescending at others. I believe it all stems of her deep insecurity of her looks and her capabilities. She feels better dragging everyone down so she can stay on top of things. Rather sad actually. Though at most times i just let it pass, sometimes it rather irritates you when she complicates things unnecessarily for everyone around her which would otherwise turn out just fine. Oh well. That probably is bad karma on her side, to act and behave from a point of ignorance and spread toxicity around. Her challenge probably is to realise her follies before it gets real bad for her.

Wouldnt it however be so wonderful if women moved around in a natural and genuine spirit of sisterhood and mutual compasion? The world definitely be a more loving place if that happens. Who knows, let's just hope!
