YOU HAVE UNKNOWINGLY/ACCIDENTALLY HIT THE OVERDRIVE BUTTON YOUR BODY AND MIND NORMALLY USES IN TIME OF REAL DANGER- FOR FIGHT OR FLIGHT REACTION TO SAVE YOUR LIVE, NOT END IT. SUICIDAL THOUGHT IS A FLIGHT REACTION GONE WRONG, YOU WANT TO RUN AND END THE PAIN. BUT KILLING YOURSELF??!!! THAT'S AN OVEREACTION. READ AGAIN, YOU ARE OVEREACTING TO A BAD SITUATION DUE TO AN LEARNED HABIT FROM SOMEONE WHO ALSO DID THE SAME. IT IS A HABIT. NOT SOME CHEMICAL DISORDER THAT HAPPENS RANDOMLY AND OUT OF CONTROL.
YOU ARE IN CONTROL.
CHEMICAL DISORDER ONLY HAPPEN WHEN YOU TRIGGER THE BUTTON. THE BUTTON IS IN YOUR HAND. IT IS A HABIT YOU UNKNOWINGLY PICKED UP SOMEWHERE OR FROM SOMEONE TO PRESS THE BUTTON WITHOUT THINKING ABOUT IT. A BAD HABIT. HABITS CAN BE CHANGED IF YOU WILL IT.
2) Whether it is love failure, business failure or sudden personal loss or just repetitive thoughts of acute unworthiness triggered by some strong reactions to probably an embarassing or shocking or failed situation or nothing at all... STOP, TAKE A FEW DEEP BREATH, BREATHE OUT, FEEL YOUR PULSE FOR 10 SECONDS AND OBSERVE those negative emotions running wild inside of you. When water is stirred in a cup, it will whirl at a momentum... emotions are hormones,fluid like water too..will eventually stop whirling when you stop putting more force into it with your recurring bad thoughts. So stop forcing that feeling by feeding it with your thoughts over and over. Press the stop button. Find something to do to distract it. It is a feeling, not end of the world! Human body and mind are made to handle more than what you think.Trust that awesomeness of life. Don't give yourself usual excuses like you can't do it like most suicide cases do. Also, if you are drinking, stop drinking or taking any drugs, for the time being at least till you recover... stay sober so you can start driving this vehicle called your body and mind out of this crappy dark place into sunshine again. Take charge. Slap yourself if you have to. YOU ARE NOT A VICTIM OF YOUR EMOTIONS. YOU ARE THE BOSS.
FOR LOVE FAILURES, THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS ONLY ONE PERSON FOR YOU TO LOVE. THAT ONLY HAPPENS IN STUPID ROMANTIC COMEDIES OR ROMANCE BOOKS. ROMANTIC COMEDIES SHOULD BE BANNED AND ROMANCE BOOKS BURNT. BE REALISTIC. IF THAT PERSON MADE YOU FEEL THIS BAD, HE OR SHE IS NOT WORTH YOUR DAMN TIME. DROP THEM. FIND NEW LOVE OR LIFE. MILLIONS OF POSSIBILITIES.
3) Bad emotions tend to run in loops in your head because of the force of negativity you give to it. Nature is a cycle. So these emotions will keep coming around. You have break the loop. You have unwittingly trained your poor brain to feel depressed due to some genetic tendency or upbringing or some childhood programming or just the way you react to situations. You have seen yourself how some people take things easy and how some obsess about things. There you go, you have learnt to obsess over bad thoughts. Unlearn it, you CAN.
When triggered and connected to a strong memory of a past or present, negative thoughts gets reinforced and starts going around and around in your head like a throbbing headache or a stomach cramp or hung like playing a bad disc. You have to find nice ways to break that loop. It could be just a simple step of taking a supplement (there are herbs that stabilise emotions) or even a big cup of tea or brain music like 528 waves (blog music) or eating the right food like tuna or exercise or dance or pat a dog or just plainly switching your thoughts to stabilise yourself. Learn how to use your body and mind effectively rather than wallowing in self-pity. Living is more challenging than dying.
TREAT SUICIDAL FEELINGS LIKE A COLD. GET A SUITABLE 'ASPIRIN' THAT WORKS FOR YOU. NEW INTEREST, NEW SPORT, NEW HABIT, NEW FRIENDS OR NEW LIFESTYLE OR NEW LOVE, MAYBE? IF YOU LOST YOUR BUSINESS, GO FIND WORK. THERE WAS A MILLIONAIRE WHO LOST ALL HIS BUSINESS AND ENDED UP SELLING SANDWICHES TO OFFICE GOERS AND NOW IS BACK IN GAME. SO IT IS JUST ADJUSTING YOUR SELF-EXPECTATIONS AND SHUTTING UP YOUR WHINING EGO. DONT LOCK YOURSELF IN YOUR ROOM WITH THAT TUB OF ICE-CREAM OR CHIPS AND WATCH TV ALL DAY LONG... WE ALL KNOW THAT FORMULA JUST DOESN'T WORK AND YOU ARE NOT THE ONLY ONE IN THE WORLD TO GO THROUGH THIS. SO GET OFF YOUR BUTTS AND KEEP MOVING.
4) YOU ARE IN CHARGE OF YOUR EMOTIONS not the other way around. Sometimes some childhood memories, or genetic tendencies or even the clueless people who you grew around with and their reactions will influence your emotional reactions to life. If you are OVEREACTING to a bad situation, it is because you were brought up to BEHAVE that way but DON'T START ANY BLAME GAME, another waste of time because most of the time the CULPRITS will NEVER ADMIT it anyway. So you take charge of your life and change that damning BEHAVIOUR. You CAN. If you are moaning you can't, you are lying to yourself.
YOU ARE OVEREACTING BECAUSE YOU LEARNT IT FROM SOMEONE WHO WAS BAD EXAMPLE IN YOUR FORMATIVE YEARS, MOST PROBABLY YOUR PRIMARY CARE GIVER (MOM or DAD or Guardian) OR SOMEONE ELSE WHO LEFT HUGE IMPRESSIONS ON YOU. DROP IT. YOU GOT IT WRONG. OBSERVE HOW STRANGERS REACT, JOIN AN ONLINE FORUM OR WATCH MOVIES TO SEE HOW PEOPLE REACT IN SIMILAR SITUATIONS OR READ BOOKS TO OBSERVE CHARACTERS SO YOU LEARN NEW BETTER BEHAVIOUR. YOU MAY REALISE THAT IT A SIMPLE THING TO START FEELING NORMAL AGAIN. LEARN ACCEPTANCE WHEN YOU CAN'T CHANGE THINGS. IT IS NOT REALLY THAT BAD TO ALLOW THINGS TO HAPPEN SOMETIMES. IT MAY LEAD YOU TO BETTER PLACES OR OPPORTUNITIES.
5) YOU, that self in you ARE THE BOSS OF YOUR BODY AND MIND. So don't let some bad or negative emotion fool you. Your EMOTIONS WERE MEANT AS TOOLS OF SURVIVAL AND HEALING. DO NOT MISUSE IT. Compartmentalise. Don't let it run all over you. Emotions just as anything else on this planet Earth takes time to heal or go away or transform. A fetus, a wound, a plant, a disappointment or a problem... all REQUIRES TIME to change. TIME DOES HEAL. Your pain today will never be the same, say a year down the road, 10 years down the road you would probably be shaking your head about it. How would you advise yourself then?? Remember, emotions will HEAL (even if you don't want it too) sometimes when you give it excuse to stay. You WILL FORGET.... so meanwhile ALLOW THE PAIN TO BE, BE A SPACE FOR IT TO BE. DON'T BE THE PAIN. DON'T FIGHT IT OR LET IT DROWN YOU. CARRY ON WITH DAILY LIVING. The best therapy is to CONTINUE YOUR DAILY ROUTINE.
Remember emotions are just electromagnetic and chemical waves in your Brain and Its Hormonal System THAT YOU HAVE ACCIDENTALY TRIGGERED WITH YOUR OVEREACTING THOUGHTS. BAD EMOTIONS ARE BAD ENERGY. IT WILL BURN ALL YOUR SYSTEMS IF YOU GIVE IT MORE FUEL. LET IT BURN OUT FAST AT THE FIRST GO. MEANWHILE FIND SOMETHING ELSE BETTER TO DO. IT HELPS TO TALK, TO WRITE IT DOWN, TO VENT, TO CRY, THEN LET IT BE. DO NOT REVISIT. DO NOT LET THE BAD THOUGHTS TO NAG YOU TO DEATH.
6) SUICIDE is NOT the quick answer to anything, NOT AN ANSWER AT ALL. You have family, loved ones, neighbour or even a complete stranger who will come to wonder WHAT THEY COULD HAVE DONE TO STOP YOU. You leave behind more DESPAIR and SADNESS than you are willing to admit. Believe it, you AFFECT everyone. You leave without giving a FAIR CHANCE for someone to HELP you. You leave a BAD EXAMPLE for OTHERS. You don't EVEN DESERVE AN OUNCE OF SYMPATHY FOR KILLING YOURSELF.
YOU AFFECT EVERYONE. DON'T BE SELFISH.
7) 10 years down the road, you will WONDER WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING WHEN YOU ONCE CONSIDERED SUICIDE. Was that man or woman or situation really that WORTH YOUR LIFE for??
You will find BETTER LOVE or BETTER LIFE, if you will let it. GIVE LIFE A CHANCE. LIFE IS DUALITY. IT WILL BE A DAMN BORING WORLD IF YOU ARE HAPPY AND GRINNING 24/7 AND EVERYTHING WENT YOUR WAY ALL THE TIME. REMEMBER 'INSIDE OUT', THE MOVIE? YOU NEED A BIT OF SADNESS TO APPRECIATE JOY :) LET LIFE ENTERTAIN YOU A LITTLE.
8) If you have children, before you consider taking your life, just for a minute CONSIDER SEEING YOUR CHILD TAKING THAT SAME DECISION AFTER YOU, would you have DONE ANYTHING DIFFERENTLY??? YOUR CHILD WILL BE PERMANENTLY DAMAGED BECAUSE OF YOUR THOUGHTLESSNESS.
SUICIDE IS THE MOST CRUEL, UNLOVEABLE THING YOU CAN DO TO YOUR CHILDREN AND FAMILY. YOUR CHILD MAY END UP KILLING HIS/HER SELF BECAUSE OF YOU. (RE. Whitney Houston-don't you feel like strangling her for leaving her daughter to kill herself too?)
9) And then there is that question of DEATH and WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THAT? Some major spiritual beliefs say you most probably will hang around as a bodiless spirit who left prematurely unable to transit naturally as it was intended for all human being after death. IMAGINE yourself hanging around bodiless with those same negative emotions you felt and NOT BEING ABLE TO KILL YOURSELF AGAIN... WAS IT ALL WORTH IT???
DO YOU WANT TO END UP AS A SUICIDAL GHOST INSTEAD? SO STEP UP AND OWN YOUR EMOTIONS.
10) Suicide is STUPID, is IRRESPONSIBLE, is a WASTE OF HUMAN LIFE.
NOTHING OR NO ONE IS WORTH GIVING UP YOUR LIFE. DON'T JUSTIFY. THIS LIFE IS NOT YOURS ALONE, IN FACT NOT YOURS AT ALL. LIFE WAS GIVEN TO YOU NOT FOR YOU TO GIVE UP. THERE ARE HIGHER FORCES WATCHING WHETHER YOU ACKNOWLEDGE IT OR NOT (YOU KNOW YOU CAN'T BE THE ONLY SUFFERING BEING IN THIS ENTIRE UNIVERSE) MAKE SOMETHING OUT OF YOUR HUMAN LIFE WHILE IT LASTS.
NOW, STOP LYING AROUND ON YOUR SOFA AND GO TAKE A SHOWER WITH SOME NICE PERFUMED BATH SOAP, HAVE A GOOD SHAVE, SLAP ON SOME SMACKING AFTERSHAVE, LIGHT UP SOME AROMA OIL OR INCENSE OR JUST SPRAY SOME AIR FRESHENER. THEN GO GET A GOOD HEALTHY SNACK (TUNAS SALADS ARE GOOD TO ELEVATE DEPRESSION, YOU COULD TRY STINKY BEANS IF YOU ARE IN ASIA, THEY GOOD TOO :)) OR HAVE SOMETHING REAL HOT AND SPICY TILL YOU SWEAT, LIKE CHILLY CRABS, OR MEXICAN FOOD, AVOID PASTA OR FRIED FOOD, SOME LIGHT CARBO AND A BIG CUP OF TEA OR FRESH JUICE, AVOID SODA. GO TO A PET STORE LOOK AT SOME PET, GET ONE IF YOU LIKE OR GET A CACTUS. GO TO A ORPHANAGE OR AN OLD FOLKS HOME, DONATE 10BUCKS OR COOK A MEAL FOR THE HOMELESS. GO FOR A BRISK WALK OR HIKE UP A HILL AND SIT IN A NICE PLACE AND WATCH THE WORLD BELOW YOU. STAY AWAY FROM BOOZE OR DRUGS MEANWHILE, THAT FORMULA DOESN'T WORK TOO, WE ALL KNOW THAT. BOOZE AND DRUGS WORSENS DEPRESSION. EVENTUALLY WHEN YOU WILL FEEL BETTER, CELEBRATE WITH A GLASS OF CHAMPAGNE. TRUST THAT IT WILL HAPPEN.
