Garden Chronicles

Having temporarily appeased my fancy for hibiscus, i ventured into dahlias quite unintentionally. It all started with me pinching a stalk off my neighbour's dying plant just to see whether it would grow from stem cutting as dahlias are all about tubers. And lo behold!! A miracle 3 months down the road.

The proverbial red rose.

Dahlias. They are very forgiving and they are very rewarding.

My hydrangea a year old now, bloomed 3 times already. Have given it a prune at last and propagated the stems. Hoping for a nice hyndragea border.

And yes, some German had to go to Mexico and 'discover' this ravishing beauty and having named her after himself, he immortalised himself-typical white man mentality! Zinnia

Cypress vine or more aptly, Star Glory

A bud grafting attempt, if this succeeds i might seriously attempt a lucrative career in nursery in the new house.

My shopping list now includes more pots and garden soil and whathvunots that anything else i might fancy. So much so ive told people if you want to give anything for my birthday or anything else, just give me a voucher to the nearest plant nursery!!! But then, there can never be too much gardening because it's all about saving the environment and sweating it outdoors!!
