Trifle in a square dish

I made trifle today. First time. In a square plastic dish. Because it was practical. And easy to store. Since i was not having any more Deepavali parties. Which reminds me of the pavlova. Of which i never took pic of. But it finished in 20minutes. So back to the trifle.

First layer was swiss roll, chocolate and vanilla which i bought for RM3.20 at Jusco Kepong.
Underneath the mango and passionfruit (leftover from the pavlova stock) i had poured in a litre of strawberry jelly mix which unfortunately seeped immediately into the rolls instead of the vision of a red translucent layer i had in mind.
I had run out of custard i found to my dismay half way into trifling... so i had to make do with a cream caramel ready mix, it was ok.
And i had half a packet of strawberry from pavlova stock again, so in that went though i wish i had more fruits.
Then i quickly dished up a chocolate frosting layer except it didnt turn out as smooth and silky as i hoped for. But i am hoping however, the Cadbury powder and the capful of whiskey i threw in there will make a difference.
Finally the leftover half of carton of President cream all whipped up.

I shaved in half a small bar of dark chocolate Van Houten and squeezed in some Hershey chocolate sauce.
The side view, the final testimony to a good trifle i guess, did i pass?
