Shahrukh Khan cooked chicken tikka for me!

We were waiting for the Chinese contractor to deliver the construction materials but he was late. So Shahrukh and me waited at the small hill on the meadow. There were works to develop the land into high tech agriculture. I was wondering what he was doing there in the first place but I long realised not to question the play of life. Anyway.. after some time, he decides to take his truck to meet the contractor himself so i had to follow him to show the way. We go through old and strangely familiar trunk road. There was an orange building on my left which once bustled as a telecommunication stop but now abandoned. I remember telling him so and he just mumbled something. I was getting a bit uneasy with the silence but i guess he had loads on his mind. So I kept quiet.

Then we passed a couple more run down buildings... one was doorless and windowless and occupied by a homeless family and the other without a roof and occupied by 4 orphaned children whose bodies was covered with dirt and grease. They were huddled closely together, sleeping on top of a stack of old cardboards. 10 years ago, i would have got down to help but I have learnt plenty of bitter lessons about interfering with other people's karma, unless they asked for help. So i let it be.

Two hours later, Shahrukh and I reached a place and I made a phone call to be told that the contractor was held up elsewhere and would not be there for the next 6 hours. So there was no turning back. It was late and I was wondering what to do next. Shahrukh wanted to get something to eat. And i didnt know that he actually planned to cook it himself. So i waited while he went off to some place and cooked. Then he gave me a plate to try. I didnt know what it was but the moment i took a bite and chewed, i realised it was chicken tikka! I thought not bad at all. I was about to swallow when i realised i was vegetarian that day. But what was more surprising was I actually realised i was vegetarian in my dream. Haha!

p/s I always had a great respect for celebrities who are able to balance a decent family life with success. This Bollywood star is one of the few who hv managed to stay married to his wife without any scandals. For that he has my salute.
