Diwali Eve-Kuala Lumpur

This year, it was heartwarming to see Kuala Lumpur rocking with Diwali decorations everywhere.. compared to recent years! Places like Sunway Pyramid and Midvalley really outdid themselves.. looks like someone in the ivory tower had gone to great pains to ensure this done! Election next March maybe? Cough!

Midvalley Concourse

The stage deco almost had me wanting to dance Bharata Natyam..

Look at that.. we were just in time for some performances.. these two dancers did Dola Re of Devdas fame..

After 2 hours of Diwali shopping in Klang (definition : squeezing, jostling, quickly grabbing what you need and haggling).. we gladly escaped. Kiddo trying out her pink ala Anarkali suit and blue pavadai-again!

And yes, she insisted on this bright red mehndi..

Hubby wanted us to try this Northern Indian Restaurant in Bangsar which has been around for some time..

The Spice Garden.. Express Indian Cuisine. I asked hubby though what they meant by 'express'? Is it like instant? Coz food did take some time to arrive..

Nice appetizers/accompaniments.. homemade pickles, mango (or was it apple?) and mint chutney,

With spicy tandoori roasted papadam..

I love tomato soup with croutons floating in it..especially fresh tomatoes

Mutton Kebab..a bit dry but flavourful

Chicken Tikka.. yummy! We had seconds of this! About RM10 a plate..not bad.

Prawn Briyani, Butter Naan, Tandoori capati with Paneer Masala

Unfortunately no space for dessert as we had a minor 'encounter' with Big Apple Donuts earlier and I didn't want to end up looking bloated on Diwali day..*sigh* perils of a woman...

We booked for a Diwali eve midnight show at Sunway Pyramid. When we reached there, the street decorations were magnificient! Mindblowing! Unfortunately we were late for the movie and I only managed to snap a few quick ones which didn't do justice at all.. you really hv to see it yourself!

Kolam or Rangoli - snapped at 1.30am at a then deserted Sunway Pyramid! (We decided to leave halfway the movie, Seval..yawn! Bharat should really stick to dancing!

After a long day of last minute shopping and running around.. having a goof at the camera..
