Tribute to Taku

This is just too beautiful for me not to post it here! My favourite moment- at 5.19 till end as the orca propelled his trainer through the water and up! Mind blowing! Magnificient creatures!

Taku was a male Orca, who was born at SeaWorld Orlando in Florida. Taku was a very energetic whale who loves to play and do new things. He had learnt most of the behaviours at SWF. He was very intelligent and picked up behaviours very easily, he was always ready and eager to learn more. He was very gentle with people and performed more and more in shows as days went by. He was very interactive with people and always checking out new things.

Taku died unexpectedly on October 17, 2007, at the age of 14 and weighing over 7000 lbs and at 22 feet long. Trainers were notified that Taku had been acting differently the Wednesday before his death. Officials stated that a necropsy report would take place, but the results would not be in for at least 6 weeks. After a long awaited report that took longer than 6 weeks, it was determined that Taku had passed away from a sudden case of pneumonia, a common illness among captive orcas.[
