There is a saying in Tamil that translates out as 'like the buffalo shakin its head' meaning people who jus follow other people jus to be agreeable.
First there was the talk and then they walked the talk. Give and take 10k Indians (according to various contradicting statistics) got down the street for the rally.. (out of 2.128 million Indians in Malaysia btw). 5 rather progressive Indians who led got thrown into jail.
Then.. a bit of sparks .. sputter..here and there.. and like a Mexican wave that goes round in circles and dies down.. eventually things died down.
Errr.. excuse me...now what??
Every Indian been asked to control their emotions and start praying for them and temples in Kamunting are makin brisk business.. i hear.
Are prayers enough? Our Gods are goin to come out in their sky borne chariots bearing chakras and maces and rescue the 5 with celestial powers? Good..if they did. (But Gods these days.. awell.. hv jus too much on their hands. . and this is not their fight!)
Then, back to Tamil serials, are we? The news, propanda VCDs and youtube videos are getting stale already.
So, tell, are we being sensible or jus plain cowards? Where is individual responsibilities?
If each of the 2.13m (or so) Indians can say or do something small and significant like reeducating themselves and 10 other non-Indians about what this whole thing is about.. not like what it is being claimed to be.. a difference can be made.
But if we are goin to go back into our comfortable shells.. and wait for two years before the 5 are going to come out or let other half baked characters take over the reins.. then God save us! Start praying harder!
