Intellectualisation

When i first heard of intellectualization, i wasn't really sure. All i could think of then was "trying to apply logic on things you cannot". Complicated thinking.

It is like, just how many stars and galaxies can science count till you realise that you can never count them all. And that it really doesn't matter. Or disecting all the prose and stanzas in poetry and realise that was not what the poets meant them to be in the first place.. just poetic expressions of one's inner experiences, meant to enjoyed as it is.
Life in simplicity.

In psychiatric terms, it means (according to princeton uni) - a defense mechanism that uses reasoning to block out emotional stress and conflict.

Buddhism - Intellectualisation is concealing reality as reality is beyond the sphere of intellect.

Scholars and generally the learned society thrive on the platform of intellectualisation. You cant deny, much has been in and for the benefit of all. As long as you hover between a 2D and a 3D world. More of a tool for survival.

We are gifted with intellect for discrimination and judgment to distinguish between what is transient, perishable and dual and what is eternal, immortal and nondual.

But human as we are, we need a parameter, a comfort zone to live in, to be in control. Uncertainty is undoing and we can't handle that. Perhaps we just need to run around in circles till we are ready to go off in a tangent and explore other possibilities. And that could be a lifetime.
