To give love and receive love... and conditional love..

In love’s godlike breathing, there’s the innermost aspect of the universe.Alexander Scriabin

People say love is what that matters most of all.. in the end.

Having said that, what is equally important is giving love and receiving love. I dunno which is sadder, not being able to give love or not being able to receive love.

The inability to give or receive love is insanity.Dr. Karl Menninger

Why do some of us are not capable of giving and receiving love even when we have plenty in our hearts? Is it a matter of pride or restraint or fear of appearing vulnerable or being taken advantage of? Is love conditional? That it is only meant to be given and taken provided it fulfills conditions? Or is it a all pervading thing that survives the ugly side of humans?

Even if we live in self defence, how can we exist as humans if we dont love or accept love from another? Is it possible? What kind of humans do we turn out to be when we shut ourselves from this natural aspect of humanity? The Cowards? The Coldhearted?

Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength while loving someone deeply gives you courage.Lao Tzo

I dunno whether i totally believe about after deaths experiences.. but one such notion states that in the last moment of our death, we experience our life in a flash, including what we have done unto ourselves and others. We are made to feel how our actions affected others, whether hurt or joy. In that moment, we are given a chance to repent, a chance to forgive others and ourselves... what more can be worse than to die as a person who never loved or allowed yourself to be loved?

For true love is inexhaustible; the more you give, the more you have. And if you go to draw at the true fountainhead, the more water you draw, the more abundant is its flow.Antoine de Saint-Exupery
