The tips are coiled prettily with fern like leaves, the taste a cross between asparagus and spinach and though it has Asian herb status, u can even find it in Northern parts of California and American northwest where it's called fiddlehead and they eat it in salad .
But for me, just blanch it in turmericky, saltish (throw in some achovies for that effect), sweetish, coconut milk and il kiss your hands baby!
Ive have some Malay dishes as personal favourites but this herby broth called pucuk paku masak lemak tops the list. Combine that with ayam masak merah or ikan bakar and wallah... you are in seventh heaven of the foods..!!
