In Tibetan Buddhist tradition, Shambhala (or Shambala) is a mystical kingdom hidden somewhere beyond the snow peaks of the Himalayas. It is mentioned in various ancient texts including the Kalachakra and the ancient texts of the Zhang Zhung culture which pre-dated Tibetan Buddhism in western Tibet. The Bon scriptures speak of a closely-related land called Olmolungring.
Also knowns to be called the Shangri-La, is this a myth or reality. History has been altered so much by acts of man that sometimes, we no longer can tell whether something really existed or was jus a fragment of the human mind.
The story behind Shambala is one that is full of hope and wonders of life. True or not, it gives u doubt, a good doubt, that perhaps it is not a myth after all. And that enough is a wonderful hope, a lightening of the human heart as it embraces its present, its problems and its joys while looking for a brighter future of a promised land of a loving, compassinate world.
