Checkmate...

Sometimes life's like playing chess. Of course i dont hv an inkling how its played, never really got down to it all these years but yea, ive seen it played. You sit for hours going over your head the moves. You plan, you anticipate, you look at your opponent and try to read his mind, his moves. You experience the thrills and suspense. You take a chance sometimes. Sometimes you are sure. Then you are not. Then sometimes when u least expect it, its 'CHECKMATE'. That leaves a funny kind of feeling inside. A feeling of 'i wished i had been more careful' or 'i wish i hadnt made that final move'. But we all know they is no goin back in time until some genius comes out with a REAL time machine.

I saw this series yesterday where this guy, standing at a scene of a murder, said, "Do you want to how to make God laugh?"
The second guy asked, "How?"
The first guy said, "Just tell him your life plans."
And then there was siren in background.
The first guy asked, "Do you what sound is that?"
The second guy said, "Ambulance?"
The first guy answered, "No, that the sound of God laughing!"

Yea, sometimes it seems that we can lose touch of the smallest thing. We go through pain and suffering in our lives for what many say, a reason. I dunt know about that, but i can say pain can make u understand things better. Its almost like pain derodes the hard veil of your ego and arrogance and you become exposed. There is no more wall between u and the world, thanks to pain. You are forced to face it. You are forced to evaluate yourself. You are forced to make a decision. U wake up from slumber. U become more enlightened, more careful and aware.

Then you vow not to make the same mistake twice. Whether it is an issue of love or trust or judgement. And for some time, u remain aware. Some time. Time blurs everything. Sometimes lessons learnt. You may forget that too. Or you think that you hv gained strength to do better next time. Then out of the blue, it comes, the opportunity to test urself again. Just when you are turning the other way, it hits u smack on ur other side. You falter. In a daze, you struggle to figure out what just happened. And then it is gone. Then you turn around and see the mess it has left. Guess what? Checkmate.

But things always turn around..
